  • I think He was one of the greatest men in a robe. I am a 3rd or 4th cousin of his- the Sheen side of the family. I was raised loving him and admiring him. We were lucky enough to have a TV when he has is weekly show- never missed it. That was almost like missing mass. Eloquint, gracious, humble but with a wonderful sense of humor. I was in awe the few times he graced his family with a visit or taking time to come do a funeral for a family member. Msr.Ed Fandel (great uncle) and fr. Jim Fandel & the Archbishop could keep you laughing. The whole county in Iowa was kin and everyone showed up. He will always be my hero. I was given the tapes from his final lectures to the seminarians. They are awsome and new get old to listen to. I was blessed to know him.
